The other day, I was contacted by a repeat client who wanted me to capture her other son’s senior portraits. Trevin wanted to go to the same location as his brother, Kirklin, did at Twin Lakes Park. That park in Greensburg, PA, has so many awesome backdrops (Abby & Josh’s maternity blog post). I was thrilled at the challenge to capture different backdrops at this location. After talking with him, Trevin is going to embrace his senior year at Hempfield High School. He is looking forward to choosing a university that best suits his interests and career needs. Best of Luck to Trevin and may he have a great senior year! I hope you enjoy these images! amcgergorphotography.com
Just in time for the peak of senior portrait season, I was thrilled that Elizabeth booked her photo session in my studio. She is a senior, lacrosse player at Yough High School. Her mom loved the barn door I custom built using reclaimed wood from a barn in North Huntingdon. This also serves as a dual purpose, ventilated area that houses our hot water tank and HVAC unit. I am so geeked about the studio, and my yard is brimming with scenic vistas as well. By the way, I added a cute little pink chair as a prop and Elizabeth didn’t want to use it but her mom did. Can you spot it in these photos?!?! Call me and we’ll collaborate! www.amcgregorphotography.com
A couple weeks ago, I wrote about Abby & Joshua’s wedding. Abby contacted me again to capture another moment of their celebration with their twin boys! She wanted wildflowers and forests. I scoped out a few spots and texted her pics of the location. She loved the environment and we met there a few hours later. I have captured senior and other maternity portraits at Twin Lakes Park throughout the four season and each location is so diverse in ecology. Abby and Josh pulled together a wedding in three weeks. I know, some people take a year to plan so this was pretty hard to believe! They are expecting twins due in July and wanted to have a gender reveal at the reception. I was so excited for them! A few weeks ago Abby reached out to me to photograph her maternity session. Those will be posted in the near future! I wish Abby and Joshua the best of wishes and look forward to seeing their two son grow! Please check out my new website! “Wowzers!” you say. “I am getting clients from all over the place!” Sure I get some local bookings from recommendations on Facebook, or from word of mouth, but most people find me on Google. Hello!?! How many of you are surprised at a good ol’ Googling? I get contacted from people living in California, Minnesota, NYC & even Europe who need a photographer in the Pittsburgh area. I ask them, “How did you hear about me?” – Are you sitting? Their response, “I searched Google!” At this I click my ruby slippers and say, “There’s no place like homepage!” I applaud Search Engine Optimizations on my webhost, PhotoShelter. I do not advertise on the web nor feel the need to do so. I enjoy the benefits of pleasing clients and having them recommend me to their friends & family. By adhering to this marketing plan, I can keep prices within your budget! Best wishes and congratulations to Caitlin & Matt on their wedding in Pittsburgh, PA. Did I mention that having a blog on WordPress has it’s benefits too! I hope you enjoy these images of this gorgeous couple. amcgregorphotography.com
Among the perils of being a professional photographer is the ability to maintain a blog, web site, marketing and business plan and accounting ledger on a daily basis. Oh wow! Did I mention collaborating with clients and capturing their dreams and editing their photos? First and foremost, congratulations to Sara & Nick on their marriage. They were married and had their reception at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, PA. It was delightful to say the least. My mission this year is to teach techniques and relate my experiences so budding photographers know what they are getting into and would like some insights. Here are the first tips of 2017! #1. Become a marketing Guru #2. Understand ISO, aperture and shutter speeds #3. Embrace and capture Light in all forms #4. Expect everything to happen when you are daydreaming and #5 Live. Love. Embrace!
Many of us joyfully celebrate Christmas in July! So it only seems fitting to celebrate Independence Day in December! Rustic Weddings have been trending for several years and the West Overton Museum epitomizes this movement. The birthplace of coal baron, Henry Clay Frick, it is located in Scottdale, PA. Amanda & Mike were married in the flower garden and celebrated their reception inside the Big Barn. Several outbuilding dot the property and elegance abounds at every corner. Cheers!
