Abby and Josh pulled together a wedding in three weeks. I know, some people take a year to plan so this was pretty hard to believe! They are expecting twins due in July and wanted to have a gender reveal at the reception. I was so excited for them! A few weeks ago Abby reached out to me to photograph her maternity session. Those will be posted in the near future! I wish Abby and Joshua the best of wishes and look forward to seeing their two son grow! Please check out my new website! It is smartphone and tablet friendly now!!! www.amcgregorphotography.com
“Wowzers!” you say. “I am getting clients from all over the place!” Sure I get some local bookings from recommendations on Facebook, or from word of mouth, but most people find me on Google. Hello!?! How many of you are surprised at a good ol’ Googling? I get contacted from people living in California, Minnesota, NYC & even Europe who need a photographer in the Pittsburgh area. I ask them, “How did you hear about me?” – Are you sitting? Their response, “I searched Google!” At this I click my ruby slippers and say, “There’s no place like homepage!” I applaud Search Engine Optimizations on my webhost, PhotoShelter. I do not advertise on the web nor feel the need to do so. I enjoy the benefits of pleasing clients and having them recommend me to their friends & family. By adhering to this marketing plan, I can keep prices within your budget! Best wishes and congratulations to Caitlin & Matt on their wedding in Pittsburgh, PA. Did I mention that having a blog on WordPress has it’s benefits too! I hope you enjoy these images of this gorgeous couple. amcgregorphotography.com
Among the perils of being a professional photographer is the ability to maintain a blog, web site, marketing and business plan and accounting ledger on a daily basis. Oh wow! Did I mention collaborating with clients and capturing their dreams and editing their photos? First and foremost, congratulations to Sara & Nick on their marriage. They were married and had their reception at the Omni William Penn in Pittsburgh, PA. It was delightful to say the least. My mission this year is to teach techniques and relate my experiences so budding photographers know what they are getting into and would like some insights. Here are the first tips of 2017! #1. Become a marketing Guru #2. Understand ISO, aperture and shutter speeds #3. Embrace and capture Light in all forms #4. Expect everything to happen when you are daydreaming and #5 Live. Love. Embrace!
Many of us joyfully celebrate Christmas in July! So it only seems fitting to celebrate Independence Day in December! Rustic Weddings have been trending for several years and the West Overton Museum epitomizes this movement. The birthplace of coal baron, Henry Clay Frick, it is located in Scottdale, PA. Amanda & Mike were married in the flower garden and celebrated their reception inside the Big Barn. Several outbuilding dot the property and elegance abounds at every corner. Cheers! I am honored to capture any kind of milestone but capturing a senior portrait ranks among the most memorable. The student is in the midst of being confronted with one of the biggest transitions as an emerging adult. The biggest tip that I can offer any photographer is to get to know the student. Don’t just ask questions while hiding behind your camera but talk to them and more importantly, LISTEN. This is an exciting time for them and they have a ton to say. I embrace these moments before I take the first picture and I am certain they do too! Aaron McGregor Photography
Imagine a beautiful ceremony aboard the Gateway Clipper Fleet augmented by a string quartet playing heavenly Mozart compositions. Amy and Justin were united in front of the sparking Pittsburgh skyline. As we started capturing the formal portraits, the sky opened up in a torrential downpour. We were forced to take the remainder of the bridal party photos inside the boat. To our delight, the clouds parted right before sunset as the Clipper floated past the city as we were ecstatic to capture these images. Congratulations to Amy & Justin! Please check out a few more happy couples on my website at Aaron McGregor Photography.
